Seaweed Nori

Nori are flat, dried seaweed sheets used in several varieties of sushi rolls. The large roll, or maki-sushi, employs an entire piece of nori (an example is a San Diego Roll). The inside-out roll or Kawari-maki-sushi makes use of a half sheet of nori, and is prepared with the rice on the outside of the roll (an example is a California Roll). The small roll or Hoso-maki-sushi is prepared with a half sheet of nori and generally composed of a single ingredient (an example is a Tuna Roll).
